OMG... have you ever been in a relationship and deep down inside you knew that you shouldn't be with this person? It's like you are evaluating every little thing about them and trying to convince yourself why you need to hang on. Do you find yourself talking to yourself about all of the bad things that you've gone through? Do you hear people tell you things from time to time about your mate that aren't so good? Usually when you know deep down inside that you shouldn't be doing something and you're keeping quiet about it, is because it's the truth! Yhat voice is really the voice of reason and the voice of your true feelings. If you're questioning yourself that often and trying to convince yourself to continue and something that is not benefiting you in any way then you must make the rational decision to go. I've sometimes chosen the method of making a list. I draw that line down the middle of the page and list all of the good things and I list all of the bad things. Now I am not talking about little petty things like they leave the socks on the floor or the toilet seat up or they don't do the dishes. I'm talking about real issues like your mate is not supportive, not respectful, isn't helpful in any way with the kids, always gone, treat you like a roommate, cheating, verbally abusive, emotionally abusive and withdrawn, very argumentative, Etc. Things in those areas are unacceptable and are enough to put the relationship to rest. Those aren't the things that you should be putting your effort into trying to improve or change. People will show you how they are versus what they say. Keep your eyes open!
